Francesc Sitges-Sardà


About

Francesc Sitges-Sardà has worked as a film and sound editor on documentary, commercial, feature film, and theatre projects since 2004.
He graduated in Film Editing in 2002 from ESCAC (Catalan School of Cinema and Audiovisuals) in Barcelona, including a university exchange program focused on image and sound post-production at Ngee Ann Polytechnic in Singapore.
After beginning his freelance career in Barcelona, he moved to New York City in 2011, where he edited two feature films: Runoff (Kimberly Levin) and Toastmaster (Eric Boadella). He also worked with Harbor Picture Company (The Irishman, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, The Dead Don’t Die, The Wolf of Wall Street), Pierpoline Films (In the Company of Men, Teeth, Mediha), and Asphalt Films (Out of the Clear Blue Sky), among others.
In September 2018, Francesc returned to Europe and settled in Copenhagen, Denmark, where he joined the five-time Oscar-nominated documentary production company Final Cut for Real (The Act of Killing, Flee, A House Made of Splinters) as a post producer and editor. His recent editing credits include The Plan (Michael Stenberg, David Österberg), Dreaming Arizona (Jon Bang Carlsen), Animality (Ai Weiwei), and the musical The End (Joshua Oppenheimer), in which he served as second editor and music editor.
He is currently working at Elk Films.
He leads workshops on editing techniques for directors at the Danish Film Directors Guild.
Francesc also has a strong musical background, having studied classical and jazz piano at the Music School of Barcelona, Taller de Músics, and through international workshops. He continues to play regularly.
